You are invited to the Moray Mountaineering Club’s Annual General Meeting to be held at 19:30 on Wednesday 19 March 2014 at Glen Moray Distillery, Elgin. Please support your club by attending. The agenda has been issued to all members via email by the Club Honorary Secretary.

The annual J Alister Sword photography competition will take place after the Annual General Meeting on 19 March 2014. The competition rules are:

1. Competition is open to current members of the Moray Mountaineering Club only.
2. Two categories: “Scottish” and “Non-Scottish”.
3. Any subject with a mountaineering theme (landscapes, people, macros, wildlife, etc.).
4. Entries must have been taken between 1st January 2013 and 19th March 2014.
5. Submit up to a maximum of two photographs per category.
6. Entries must be made as hard-copy on the night (please write your name and photo details on the reverse).
7. Full-size electronic versions should also be emailed to mmcphotocomp@btinternet.com (please include your name and photo details in the email)

All entries into the Scottish category will be considered for the Moray Mountaineering Club’s 2014 calendar.

After the AGM and photography competition there will also be a talk from Robbie Roberts. Robbie holds nationally recognised qualifications as a trainer in Diving, Caving and Climbing disciplines and he is a keen walker who is about to walk the length of Britain (again). He specialised in Aircrew Combat Survival during his long career in the RAF and now gives presentations and lectures widely on Mountain Safety and Survival. We are lucky he is free to join us at the AGM for what will be an “interactive” session on safety and survival in the mountains – it should be entertaining and very instructive.
