Twenty four members and guests boarded the bus en-route to Achnashellach and Coulags.
First off the bus was Brent, who disembarked at Loch Gowan to undertake a traverse of the ridge of hills to the South of the A890, including Carn Gorm, Moruisg (Munro) and Sgurr nan Ceannaichean (Corbett) before dropping down to Craig.
Next off the bus, getting dropped-off circa 1km before reaching Craig, were Graham and Bill. Graham and Bill ascended Beinn Tharsuinn (Corbett) before returning to Craig.
A party of six disembarked at Craig to ascend Sgurr Choinnich (Munro) and Sgurr a’Chaorachain (Munro). Jenny, Malcolm, Kenneth, Fiona_C, David and Gordon all successfully summited these hills before dropping down the Sron na Frianich ridge to Glenuaig Lodge and then back out to Craig.
Ten members were then dropped-off at Achnashellach with two objectives in mind:
Jake, Fiona_D, Bob_M, Paul and Stephen_L set out on a traverse from Achnashellach to Coulags, via Fuar Tholl (Corbett).
Andy, John, Bob_W, Graeme and Derrick set out on a traverse from Achnashellach to Achnasheen, via Carn Breac (Graham) and Beinn na Fesuaige (Graham). This was an enjoyable traverse including a visit to a 1943 B26 crash site and the summiting of Derrick’s 600th Marilyn (600 being the number required to gain entry to the ‘Marilyn Hall of Fame’). Always good to finish a walk at a pub with time for a few drinks!

The final drop-off, saw Heavy, Stephen, Mark, Julian and Pam setting out for, and summiting, the fine Torridonian sandstone hill, Maol Chean Dearg (Munro).

Everyone was back to the bus in plenty of time to allow for drinks at the Ledgowan Hotel on the way back – a really good pub with a fine selection of Malts.
