Leave Elgin: 7.00 am

This is a ”new” traverse for the club. The bus will leave Elgin at 7:00, with the usual pick-up times of 7:20 at Forres and 8:00 at Inverness. This should allow us to arrive at Dalwhinnie Station at about 9:00. The Bus will then continue round to the Laggan road and park up for the day at one of the laybys at Luiblea. This is the normal parking area for
going in to do the Munros of Creag Pitridh and Geal Charn.
Options for the day include:
1, A walk straight through, without doing any hills, which is approximately 27km.
2. The traverse could be combined with the Fara, or if you are really quick, and fit, the 2 Munros of Creag Pitridh and Geal Charn – although, you could stay on the bus to Luiblea and tackle the Munros from there.
3. Dalwhinnie – Newtonmore , either low level along Loch Cuaich or over Meall Chuaich.
4. A traverse from Laggan village, or the mountain bike centre, to Newtonmore, through Glen Markie, or Strath an Eilich, and down Glen Banchor.

The bus is scheduled to leave Luiblea at 17:30, which allows a pub stop at the Glen Hotel, Newtonmore.
