CIC Meet Report 4th-6th Aug 2023

Another month, and another memorable MMC weekend meet. Whilst you might think from the UK’s highest mountaineering hut, great mountaineering feats would be achieved, of course the CIC lived up to it’s usual rainy reputation. Fortunately, with the rest of the UK battling yellow weather warnings, Ben Nevis was surprisingly unscathed. Still, wet rock meant sensible route choices were made this weekend. With warnings on parking in force due to the mountain biking event at Fort William, Olly and David arrived early on the Friday and headed up to the CIC on the Friday arriving just after 6pm. Unfortunately, there was no toilet roll so a cry for help was…

Bus Meet: 10th September Torridon

Bus Meet: 10th September Torridon Our next bus meet location will be Torridon. This is a classic venue with excellent ridge traverses available from the bus.  Please note that we cannot guarantee that the bus will be able to travel beyond Torridon Village.  This means that anyone intending on climbing Beinn Alligin or doing the low level walk behind Liathach will have an extra road walk between Inveralligin and Torridon Village.  In the past the bus has parked at Inveralligin but this is unlikely to be possible with the huge increase in traffic in this area  Also note the date – 10th September.  Bus Meets are usually on the third Sunday in the month but…
