On Sunday 20th October, twenty-one Club members and guests attended the Bus Meet to Glenfinnan. After picking up members and guests in Elgin, Forres and Inverness, the bus continued down the A82 and then along the A830. Seven stops were made along the A830 dropping-off members at the starting points of various hills. The weather forecast turned out to be much better than originally anticipated with blue skies, great visibility and cloud-free hills throughout much of the day. The Cuillin has been called a Mecca for Mountaineers, and in some ways they have their similarities. Every mountaineer, at least every British mountaineer, really must strive to visit the Cuillin at least once in their lifetime, and sometimes the queues at the bottom of the In Pin can resemble those surging around the Kaaba at the time of Hajj. Visitors to Mecca often do so as an annual pilgrimage and so it is for the Moray Mountaineering Club and Glen Brittle. Date: 2nd/3rd November 2013 Venue: Inchnadamph Lodge Location: Inchnadamph Lodge is located in the heart of Assynt – a spectacular parish of mountains, lochs & beaches. The hamlet of Inchnadamph is just 25 miles north of the fishing village of Ullapool, 12 miles east of Lochinver and at the head of Loch Assynt.
