The Club has arranged a Nature Awareness day in the Cairngorm Northern Corries led by Dan Puplett (Link to Dan’s website).  30 August 2020, 09:00 to 16:30.  The cost is £25 per person.  Contact Alistair Jeffs to book a place.  Numbers may be limited and will be allocated on a first-come-first-served basis.  This is a members only event. The Club’s constitution requires an Annual General Meeting to be held each year, but  COVID-19 has meant that the usual arrangements are not possible.  Therefore the Committee has adopted an online approach.  All members should by now have received an email containing the Secretary’s Report and Treasurer’s report as required by the the constitution.  The email contains a link to an online voting form where you can vote for or against various motions.  THIS IS YOUR CLUB – PLEASE USE YOUR VOTE. The Moray Mountaineering Club ceilidh, featuring Rory and the MTs, will be held at Bishopmill Hall on Saturday 22 Feb 2020 from 7:30.  Tickets are £10pp, including stovies.  Bring your own bottle.  Tickets are available from any committee member or at the door.  Friends, relatives, partners, non-members are all most welcome. There will be a raffle with all proceeds going to Mountain Rescue.  Donations to the raffle are welcome.

Scottish ultra-endurance adventurer, and former MMC member, Jenny Graham has just smashed her way in to the Guinness World Records by becoming the fastest woman to cycle around the planet. In 2018 her ride took her 18,000 miles, over 4 continents and16 countries, completing the trip solo and unsupported in 124days. Battling through tornados, bear country and Russian traffic Jenny tells her story with a humorous take on the highs and lows. The annual J. Alister Sword photography competition will take place after the Annual General Meeting on 20 March 2018. The competition rules are: 1. Competition is open to current members of the Moray Mountaineering Club only. 2. Two categories: “Scottish” and “Non-Scottish”. 3.
