The Dundonnel meet turned out to be another successful trip with an attendance of 35 members and guests despite a poor weather forecast. The weather was much better than expected and a great day was had by all.

Ray Harron and Natacha Mihajlovic set off from Ardessie Waterfalls and walked up the track along the Allt Airdeasaidh. Within 1hr30, they got to the top of Sail Mhor where they enjoyed great views of the Summer Isles in the north and corbetts Beinn Dearg Mhor and Beinn Dearg Bheag in the south. After a leisurely snack, they followed the ridge of the corbett over Ruigh Mheallain and Sgurr Ruadh and spotted some wild goats. The long way up the north west ridge of An Teallach took them to Sgurr Fiona and then Bidein a’ Ghlas Thuill in claggier weather but the skies cleared beautifully again by the time they started making their way down over Meall Garbh. One even got sunburnt!
George Herraghty headed off up Beinn Ghobhlach from Corrie Hallie. He had a long hot day with rewarding views from the top while waiting for a pint of beer that never arrived!! He returned to Dundonnel via the Eilean Darach footbridge.
Jo Chappell, Paul Chappell, Mick Greenshiels, Graham Milton and Claire Wirsig set off from Ardessie Waterfalls and heading up the Corbett Sail Mhor. They enjoyed a short break by the river before headed up to the summit, where they took the opportunity to take in the beautiful views of the Summer Isles while having a leisurely lunch break. They also spotted some wild goats on route to Ruigh Mheallain before returning to Ardessie Waterfalls.
Ros Wright, Chloe Wright, Nadine Williams, Laurence Williams, Ken Ross, George Sim and two American guests Kelsea Mullance and Forrest Etter headed off from Corrie Hallie for a circular route to Sheneval Bothy. Everyone enjoyed the excellent views and good weather. This was a whole new experience for the two American guests who had a fantastic day out.
Heavy Whalley, John Cosgrove, Mary Cosgrove and Sarah Tyson set off from Dundonnel up onto the ridge of An Teallach to the summit of Glas Mheall Mor and Bidein a Ghlas Thuill. They all had a lovely day out with great company.
Bob Weeks set out for a hike up Beinn A Chlaidheimh from Corrie Hallie. He had a pretty uneventful day but managed to spot a few deer and frogs along the way. The only down side to his day was the 3 mile way back up the road to the pub from Corrie Hallie.
David Brown Douglas set off for a day out in the Fannaichs. He headed off over Creag Dhubh Fannaich then completed a circular route of Beinn Liath Mhor Fannaich, Sgurr Mor, Meall Gorm and An Coileachan. He also took the opportunity to spot some mountain hares and frogs.
Paul Geraghty, Elliott Harbottle, Chris Muir, Greg Muir, Trish, Richford, Jenny Smith, David Strathdee, David Whitelock, Spence Julian, Alastair Wren, Corinne Ferguson, Bob MacDonald and Sandy Murray all set off from Corrie Hallie for a traverse along An Teallach. They started off at the summit of Sail Liath then onto cadha Gobhtach and Corrag Bhuidhe that presented some exciting scrambling. According to Spence, Lord Berkeley’s seat was quite warm by the time he came to sit on it.

The traverse then took them onto the first munro of Sgurr Fiona then along the ridge to Bidein a Ghlas Thuill where they stopped for a lunch break. They then completed the traverse returning to Dundonnel via Glas Mheall Mor. They all had a brilliant day out and even managed to get some views of the Summer Isles.
