The clue is in the title – by popular request and after having had to cancel last year’s attempt (due to forecasts of extremely windy conditions), the south-to-north traverse of the Cairngorms is back on the list. This will be a bus & car combo.

The overall plan is for everyone to take their own transport to the Aviemore area from where the bus will take us to the Linn of Dee. We then walk back to our vehicles!

Please note: whichever route you take (the Lairigh Ghru itself, up and over Ben MacDui or Cairngorm or Devil’s peak/Braeriach) this is a committing day for both distance and ascent – once you have started, the only way to finish is to get back to your vehicle because the bus will be going home once it has dropped us off. That said, by going in June, we are maximising the available hours of daylight (‘sunshine’ is probably asking a bit too much!).
