Loch Maree

This will be a bus meet to Kinlochewe

We will be driving through Achnasheen so, for those that feel obliged to tackle a Munro, how about Fionn Bhein? A hill with a view of the Torridon mountains from an unusual angle. Walking time is approx 5 – 6 hours. More info here . . .

The Corbett Meall a’ Ghiubhais is a lovely walk (a bit rough in places) starting from just north of the village https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/torridon/Meallaghuibhais.shtml and is 4.5 – 6 hours according to Walk Highlands.

The ‘Mountain Trail’ is also a good bet. It doubles as the early part of the ascent of the Corbett and takes about 3 – 4 hours https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/torridon/Mountaintrail.shtml . This article on Walk Highlands gives an idea of the background geology that can be found on the walk. https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/news/a-remarkable-walk-beinn-eighe-mountain-trail/

If you’d like to get up to the eastern end of Beinn Eighe, then there is a route pretty much from the village that takes you to Creag Dubh (with some rough bouldery stuff) and a flat ridge with the grade 1 scramble of the Black Carls ahead. Based on time, it’ll likely be a case of leaving the Black Carls for another day and returning the way we came (5 – 6 hours). But takes nothing away from the views of the Beinn Eighe ridge that you will have seen.
