Our annual bus meet with an emphasis on encouraging New Members.
Where are we going on the day? Glenmore / Cairngorms.
As for routes, the Glenmore area is not short of options. So, rather than having everyone doing something different (not really the best on a get-to-know-each-other day!), we are planning on the following three options. None of them are extreme and each includes a variation or two.
- Cairngorm plateau – up the Fiacaill ridge (with or without the scrambling option) and back down either clockwise down around Coire an Lochain or anti-clockwise over Cairn Gorm to either of the car parks (ski centre or Coire na Ciste)
- Meall a’ Bhuachaille circuit – past Glenmore Lodge and up at Ryvoan Bothy. Then down from the ridge at one of several spots (up to & including Craiggowrie). Steepish at the start but not too severe. About 2h 15m to the top, so plenty of time to do the rest of the ridge.
- ‘Puddling’ in the forests around Loch Morlich, doing what the fairies do in the Green Loch and many other options beside . . .
