Loch Beannacharain in Strathconon

Sunday 16th October 2011

OS Map 25/26

The bus will be dropping off at Craig, which is four and a half km from Achnashellach Station.  The pick up point will be a large car park at the end of Strathconon Glen, just east of Scardoy Lodge.

Routes for the day include; Sgurr nan Ceannaichan/Moruisg and then east along the ridge and down to the glen.  Also Sgurr Choinnich & Sgurr a’ Chaorachain before dropping down and walking out to the Bus.  Further down the glen there is the opportunity to do the remote Munro, Maoile Lunndaidh, which can be approached from Glenuaig Lodge.  NOTE! It is not possible to link this Munro with the 2 westerly Munros, as there would not be sufficient time due to the big descent and re-ascent.  Mobile phone signal will be pretty much non-existant too!

The Corbetts, Bac an Eich and An Sidhean can also be accessed from this Glen.  It would also be a pleasant low level walk along this Glen, if the weather was inclement.

Dave is on holiday so to book a place on the bus contact Rachel
