The hut offers access to numerous hills within walking distance from the door, or with only a very short drive. If the weather is miserable, then the Ledgowan Hotel is within easy staggering distance.

The hut is accessed by a circa 250m walk along a boardwalk that leads from the road to the hut. Be aware that if it’s really windy and/or the river is very high (or you’ve had one too many in the Ledgowan) then this can become impassable.
