February 2013 Bus Meet Report: Torridon

Four and Twenty members and guests made the journey to Torridon this month and were rewarded with the best weather the British Isles had to offer. Andy Brooks, Jo Chappell, Corinne Ferguson and Ros Wright took a stroll round the back of Liathach, through Coire Dubh Mor and Coire Mhic Nobaill. With time to spare they detoured round for a view of the Triple Buttress of Coire Mhic Fhearchair. 2013 Club Ceilidh

A great evening was had by all at the annual Moray Mountaineering Club Ceilidh. The event was well attended, with over 100 members and guests regularly filling the floor. Buskoe Sike were superb, encouraging everyone onto the floor from the first dance. Jake announced the raffle winners with usual banter – one prize was even won by ‘God’. A big thanks to everyone on the Committee who made this enjoyable event happen and thanks to everyone who came along to make the night a success. A few photos follow.

February 2012 Weekend Meet Report: Glen Etive

Fourteen members successfully completed the first challenge – finding the Inbhirfhaolain hut in the dark; not an easy task for first-timers. Saturday was dry with great views and lovely snow – a meteorological phenomenon not seen in Glen Etive since the days of General Wade. Folk headed off in all directions. Rachel Higgins and her two sherpas, Dave (two nights, one walk) Whitelock and Malcolm Campbell, packed their winter mountaineering kit (waders and a snorkel) and headed up Ben Starav. Annual General Meeting 2013

You are invited to the Moray Mountaineering Club’s Annual General Meeting to be held at 19:30 on 21 March 2013 at Glen Moray Distillery. Please support your club by attending. April 2012 Weekend Meet: Inverardran Cottage, Crianlarich

Inverardran Cottage, Crianlarich Date: 5th/6th April 2013 Venue: Inverardran Cottage, Crianlarich Location: Inverardran Cottage is the whitewashed building situated at the east end of Crianlarich, next to the Ben More restaurant. (OS sheet 50, Grid Ref 392250) on the North side of the A85. The cottage has its own extensive parking area behind the building. Facilities: The cottage is fully-equipped for self catering. All utensils, crockery and cutlery are provided. You may wish to bring additional tea towels. There are two fridges. Two cookers have four-burner gas hobs, double oven & grill, separate toaster and microwave ovens. Hot water is provided by a large under sink boiler which supplies the sink unit.
