Car Meet, 16th January, Spean Bridge

The car share day meet this Sunday (16 Jan) will be at Spean Bridge. Specifically meeting at the car park at NN255788. See Walk Highlands: https://www.walkhighlands.co.uk/fortwilliam/cruach-innse.shtml There are a few options: one or both of the Corbetts, Cruach Innse and/or Sgurr Innse (which I will be attempting); a Munro, Stob Choire Claurigh; or just a walk into the bothy (Lairig Leacach) and back. For the apres refreshments, Spean Bridge Mill Restaurant looks best as it stays open until 5pm. All welcome. PLEASE MEET AT THE CAR PARK FOR A 9AM DEPART. Member’s Achievements 2021

Despite a global pandemic and a lockdown where we couldn’t leave county boundaries, several MMC members still made the most of the year and completed various rounds of the Scottish hills. Congratulations to Sheena Forsyth, Alistair Jeffs, Gavin Scott, and David Treagus for completing (their first round of) the Munros! Big congratulations to Corbitteer, Fiona Duncan for completing the rugged challenge of the Corbetts. Here’s a link to the club’s Hall of Fame. New Years Meet 2021-22, Kintail Outdoor Centre

New Year Meet 2021-22 (names omitted to protect the innocent and any possible guilty persons). A small band of highly tested, super-injected over-dosed virus resistant persons met (within the carefully thought out guidelines and risk assessed requirements) for the Kintail New Year Meet.  The cup of kindness was definitely full as it meant we all had our own room with private facilities. The weather was pretty poor but a good time was had by all.  Various low level walks occurred around Balmacara, Glenelg and up the valley to the waterfall and bothy which contained some Edinburgh student-types.  The mountaineering highlight was the 2-person summit of the Corbett Sgurr Mhic Bharraich in…
