Sat 1st – Mon 3rd May 2010 The Isle of Arran is a real gem, but it is not exactly easy to reach from Elgin. Twenty-three members and guests decided that the effort was worthwhile; a few even coming from Orkney… Now that’s what I call commitment. Despite being a bank holiday weekend, the island was still relatively quiet. The only crowds were the MMC members crawling over the many fine glens, ridges, crags and summits of this spectacular landscape. Sunday, 18th April 2010 Twenty-four lucky people had a stunning day out in the hills of Glen Shiel & Kintail, one of those wonderful days when you can see for miles. Graham Milton with guests Jackie Adkins, David Strathdee, Jenny Smith and Doug & Leigh Watt had a nice gentle day out on Am Bathach, then on to Glen Affric. April 2010 Weekend Meet Report: Strontian
Sat 3 -Sun 4 April 2010 Thirteen members and guests made the long journey to the Ariundle Centre at Strontian. A very nice bunkhouse, which was only slightly let down by the rather small kitchen. The weather was quite good (for the west coast), but there was a bit of low cloud around on Saturday. As usual, I’ve lost track of what everyone did, so this is probably just small selection. Alan Duncan and Fiona Duncan got the weekend off to an early start with an ascent of Beinn Laruinn in Glen Roy on the Friday. Andy Brooks, George Sim, Bob MacDonald, Natacha Mihajlovic and Ray Harron all set out from Killiecrankie and headed up onto Meall an Daimh and Ben Vrackie. They all enjoyed a good day out and even managed to get some sunshine. March 2010 Weekend Meet Report: Killin
Sat 6/Sun 7 March 2010 Fourteen members experienced the delights of Killin…a central location giving access to a loads of hills. Saturday was a glorious day with little or no wind and excellent visibility. Several parties drove the short distance to Glen Lochay. Dave Galloway, Oliver Galloway, Hannah McIntosh, Daniel Moysey and Evelyn Droege did a circuit of Sgiath Chuil and Meall Glas. This was Hannah’s virst winter hill, but that didn’t stop her leading the way. Fiona Duncan and Alan Duncan went up Creag Mhor and Stob nan Clach.
